Ursula Moon is a dancer/choreographer, educator and fitness professional who specializes in the International Pilates method of body conditioning. Pilates was introduced to Ursula through dance and she deems Pilates central to both the longevity of her dance career and her overall health and fitness lifestyle. Ursula’s fitness background also includes yoga, body conditioning, interval and circuit training, in addition to the development of her Pilates core-body fusion programs. Ursula obtained a Masters degree from UCLA’s department of World Arts and Cultures where she also taught and choreographed within the department. Ursula obtained a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts with a concentration in the Pilates method. She is a certified group fitness trainer with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She also holds an advanced and highly accredited International Pilates certification which recognizes her as and elite instructor. Her Pilates certification also includes training in anatomy, physiology, stretch techniques, posture assessment, program design, teaching techniques and programming for rehabilitation, pregnancy and a host of other special populations. Ursula approaches her work with an emphasis on the mind-body connection and developing the body from the inside out. She blends her extensive dance, fitness and educational backgrounds to create unique and effective training methods to assist clients in reaching their health and fitness goals. Ursula continues to study the Pilates method and integrate Pilates principles in other areas of her fitness programming. Currently Ursula’s focus is in fitness programming for pre and post-natal women. She is also broadening her background to include nutrition and holistic health. In addition Ursula continues to perform, choreograph, teach dance. |
